As a reader I love science fiction books because it provides me with such great escapism. I can be thrown on a starship, dead world or a wondrous planet surrounded by amazing people and I can solve massive problems in science fiction.

 

That is why I love the genre. It allows me to experience the far future that might come one day (but judging by the books I read I really hope none of this ever comes true).

 

As a writer, I love science fiction books because they allow me to explore the universe, future and what challenges the future may bring. But in all honesty, science fiction is just fun, I can do whatever I want on these planets and I can do things I can only dream (or write) about.
