If you love science fiction short stories, then you have to check out this great series by WMG Publishing, Inc., Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. Since each of the 6 collections are filled with gripping, enthralling short stories that you won't be able to put down. Personally, I've really enjoyed each of the collections and their themes. So if you want escape this crazy world for a few hours, then there is nowhere better than the far (or near) future by these top writers! Check out these great collections whenever you buy books!
Private Eyes By Murder, Crime and Mayhem
Last August I read Issue 1 of Mystery, Crime, and Mayhem and it contains so many great Private Eye short stories that are simply brilliant. This is the book that actually got me writing mystery stories, so a massive thank you for the writers for creating this great issue. There are plenty of stories by top writers and each story explores a different area of the Private Eye world, so this is such a brilliant collection that I cannot recommend enough.
The Regent's Shadow by Chris Wraight
This science fiction book has to be this week's book recommendation because it read it two years ago and I can still remember it. It is truly such an amazing book that I learnt a lot from as a writer, and as a reader it was such a brilliant story. It is a clever, intriguing and fascinating look into the political structure of the Warhammer science fiction universe, and all three of the perspectives will hold you to the end. There are brilliant cliffhangers, plots and the end is... wow! I just flat out loved the ending, so I cannot recommend this great book enough if you love scifi.
Crimes Collide By WMG Publishing
Great Historical Mystery Fiction!
I finished this short story collection by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Dean Wesley Smith and WMG Publishing, Inc. last night and normally I never ever give historical fiction a second thought, because it isn't one of my favourite genres. But I'm really glad I gave this great collection a go because it's filled with really fun stories from both writers, and I got to understand a bit more about American history (Thanks Kris!) and there are plenty of other histories used too. So if you like mysteries set in the past, then you NEED to check this out!
Thunder Mountain by Dean Wesley Smith Personally westerns and time travel stories are not normally to my reader tastes, because I just don't tend to like them. But if you mix western, romance, and science fiction, well, fiction and have a top writer writing the story. Then the end result is very powerful and a great read. I really enjoyed this book because the characters are very lovable, relatable and you really do want them to succeed in their mission. It's a very light-hearted read that will really make you want to read to the very last page to see what happens to the characters. And the historical aspect feel so real, interesting and gripping that it makes you feel like you're living in the west with the characters, so this book is a lot of great fun. So definitely check out Thunder Mountain by Dean Wesley Smith where ever you buy books from.
